MY MODULOR

“My Modular” was developed as a proof-of-concept participatory artwork,  building on the themes explored in “Scale”. Using mobile and wearable devices, the work  references our subjective experience of architectural space by tailoring a sonic scale (again based on Le Corbusier’s Modulor system) to each participant’s height.

The result is a synthesised “sonic avatar”, allowing the participants to “sound out” their surroundings with sound waves relating to their own proportions. This allows them to explore notions of consonance and dissonance between the personalised acoustic representation of each participant, and the varying impact of the built environment on their sonic behaviours.
