Fl10s: False Lights Seaham, live
The Marina, Seaham

An expanded version of the new Fl10s installation composition has been developed for live performance. This will be played alongside members of Durham Miners’ Association Brass Band and percussionists, for a one-off performance in Seaham Marina marking the anniversary of the George Elmy disaster.

Sage Gateshead

Barographic is a site-specific composition project, creating graphic scores from atmospheric pressure data, and using the architectural form of the venue as an animated, 3D sequencer. First performed in 2013, the piece will be performed again as part of Sage Gateshead’s 10th birthday celebrations.

Voyage - NOVAK + Ed Carter

LUMIERE Derry-Londonderry 2013

As part of Artichoke’s Lumiere Festival, Ed has collaborated with NOVAK, producing a bespoke piece of music to accompany their outdoor projection piece ‘Voyage’, inspired by the fantastical writings of Jules Verne.


The piece will by shown on Austins, reputedly the world’s oldest independent department store.

Ed will be at BALTIC talking about the project at 14:00 on Sunday 10 Nov.

Phonautogram album launch
SAGE, Gateshead

The third Winter North Atlantic album, ‘Phonautogram‘, will be released on the Alt.Vinyl imprint in October 2013. The entirely instrumental collection of acoustic and electronic textures will be performed by a live ensemble at the stunning Sage Gateshead venue. with special guests Bridie Jackson and the Arbour.
